JUST ONE THING - EPISODE 1
Oh, what a stressful day. Amara stretched after a short nap, her gaze falling upon the clock fixed on the wall in her self-contained apartment. Amara, a young and promising lady with a sonorous voice, knew that she had to build herself up to become a figure to reckon with in the future. "Jesus," she exclaimed, realizing that time was already slipping away.
Hastily, she got up and neatly arranged her bed. Then, she lit up the gas stove to warm the leftover rice. At least she needed to eat something before heading to the rehearsal scheduled for the afternoon. Just as she was about to eat, her phone rang, interrupting her plans. She rushed to the bedside table where her phone was charging.
Despite being a self-contained apartment, Amara's room was spacious enough to accommodate all her belongings. Being a well-organized lady, she made sure to give her room a colorful and serene atmosphere using beautiful materials for her curtains.
"Hello, this is Theo. I guess I'm speaking to Amara," the caller said as Amara picked up her phone.
"Yes, this is Amara," she replied.
"I got your number from Fola," Theo explained. "I'm a lyricist, and I've seen some of the songs you composed on your page. I would like us to collaborate together. Please let me know when you'll have the chance so that we can fix a time to discuss it."
Theo's request caught Amara by surprise, and it took her a few seconds to respond.
"Hello, are you still there?" Theo asked, concerned when he didn't hear Amara's voice on the other end of the phone.
Amara quickly snapped out of her momentary surprise and replied, "Yes, Theo, I'm here. I apologize for the delay. Your proposal took me by surprise, but I'm interested in collaborating with you. Music has always been my passion, and I believe a collaboration could lead to something beautiful. Can you please give me some more details about your ideas?"
Theo sounded relieved as he continued, "I'm glad to hear that you're interested. I've been writing lyrics for a while now, and I stumbled upon your music page a few days ago. Your compositions resonated with me, and I felt that our styles could complement each other well. I think together we can create some amazing songs."
Amara smiled, feeling a rush of excitement. "Thank you, Theo. I appreciate your kind words. I'm eager to hear your ideas and discuss how we can collaborate effectively. Are you available to meet in person? I believe face-to-face discussions would be more productive."
Theo hesitated for a moment before responding, "I would love to meet in person, but I'm currently out of town for a music conference. However, I could come back next week. In the meantime, we could exchange some initial ideas through email or video calls. What do you think?"
Amara considered Theo's suggestion and realized that it made sense. "That sounds reasonable, Theo. Let's exchange contact information, and we can start sharing our thoughts and ideas. Once you're back, we can arrange a meeting to delve deeper into the collaboration."
They exchanged their contact details, and Amara felt a growing sense of anticipation. This collaboration could be a turning point in her musical journey, opening doors to new possibilities and artistic growth.
After hanging up, Amara sat back on her bed, her mind buzzing with excitement. She couldn't wait to start working with Theo and explore the creative synergy they could achieve together. She reached for her notebook and pen, ready to jot down any initial ideas that came to her.
As she scribbled down lyrics and melodies, Amara couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected phone call that interrupted her plans. It was a reminder that opportunities could arise when least expected, and embracing them could lead to extraordinary experiences.
