JUST ONE THING - EPISODE 9
The
Search for Answers
After the
exhilarating success at the audition, Amara's mind couldn't help but wander to
the unanswered questions about her parents. She had always wondered about her
origins, longing to know if her parents were still alive or if there was any
trace of them. The desire to uncover her past grew stronger with each passing
day, fueled by her recent achievements and the support she received from her
loved ones.
With newfound
determination, Amara decides to embark on a journey to search for answers. She
knows it won't be an easy task, but she believes that if she sets her mind to
it, she can uncover the truth about her parents. She confides in Theo since
their friendship has blossom and she now see a future with him and Tolu was not
also left out Amara also inform Tolu about her strong determination to look for
her parent.
Tolu, being
the supportive friend that she is, offers to help Amara in her quest. They
spend hours researching, trying to gather any piece of information that could
lead them to her parents. They start by contacting the orphanage where Amara
was abandoned.
The staff at
the orphanage is surprised to hear that she's determined to search for her
parent after all these years. They are sympathetic to her desire to find her
parents and provide her with the little information they have. They share that
she was found as a baby with a tag bearing her name, Amara Harold, but
unfortunately, there were no other identifying details.
Undeterred, Amara
and Tolu widen their search. They visit the local authorities, hoping to find
any records related to her abandonment. After hours of digging through old
files, they stumble upon a lead. A police report filed around the time of
Amara's abandonment mentions an anonymous call reporting a baby left in front
of the orphanage. Though the information is minimal, it gives them a glimmer of
hope.
Armed with
the lead, Amara and Tolu continue their investigation. They reach out to the
police department to see if they can find any additional details about the
anonymous call. The process takes time, but their persistence pays off when
they finally receive a breakthrough.
The police
discover that the call was made from a public phone booth not far from the
orphanage. They manage to retrieve surveillance footage from that time, hoping
it might reveal something useful. With bated breath, Amara and Tolu watch the
grainy video, their eyes scanning the screen for any clue.
In the midst
of the fuzzy images, they spot a figure, their face concealed by a hood. The
person approaches the phone booth, makes the call, and then disappears into the
night. While the footage doesn't provide a clear view of the person's face, it
does offer a glimmer of hope. The time stamp on the video helps them narrow
down the search to a specific window of time.
Amara and
Tolu decide to visit the neighborhood around the phone booth, hoping to find
someone who might remember something from that night. They speak with the
locals, showing them the footage and asking if anyone recalls seeing anything
unusual or someone with a baby.
After many
conversations, they finally come across an elderly woman who vaguely remembers
a person rushing by with a bundle in their arms that night. She can't provide a
detailed description, but she recalls hearing a baby's cry. Though it's not
much to go on, it reaffirms Amara's belief that someone out there knows
something about her past.
Encouraged by
the small breakthrough, Amara and Tolu intensify their search. They reach out
to local newspapers, hoping to find any mention of a baby being abandoned
around the time Amara was found. They even consider hiring a private
investigator to aid their efforts.
As they dive
deeper into the search, Amara is filled with a mix of emotions. She is excited
at the prospect of uncovering her past but also anxious about what she might
discover. Will she find her parents? Will they be alive? Or will the search
lead to a dead end, leaving her with more questions than answers?
Amidst the
uncertainty, Amara remains hopeful. She knows that even if the journey is
challenging, it's a journey worth taking. The love and support she receives
from Tolu, Theo with whom she now sees a future with since their relationship
has blossom and the Havilah Praise team give her strength to continue, no
matter the outcome.
The search
for her parents becomes a parallel path to her blossoming music career. Amara
continues to focus on her music career, she cherishes every moment of various
invitation she has honoured, knowing that her parents would have been proud to
see her thrive.
As Amara balances her pursuit of truth and her dedication to music, she holds onto the belief that her determination will lead her to the answers she seeks. The journey is far from over, but with each step, she grows stronger, both as an artist and as a person.
